Database Engineer

What you will do 

• Designing and implementing data structures in the cloud (Google Cloud Platform)
• Building and optimising data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
• Preparing data for use by AI teams (embeddings, vector data)
• Supporting vector databases (e.g. Vertex AI Matching Engine, Weaviate, FAISS) 
• Managing data in columnar formats (Parquet)
• Ensuring data consistency, quality, and availability in the project

• 5+ years of experience working with databases in cloud environments
• Practical knowledge of GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer)
• Experience working with vector databases and embedding data
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and data processing automation tools
• Practical experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cloud SQL) and data warehouses
• Communication skills and ability to work in a project team with AI specialists and developers
